Fundraising

The Family Y will lead the $5 million fundraising campaign for the new regional recreation centre to close the gap between the provincial, federal, and municipal funding committed to this $38 million generational project. The Request for Proposals for a capital fundraising campaign went out in July 2009 and three companies were interviewed by the Family Y Board committee. The successful company was Ketchum Canada Limited and work started in September. The lead Consultant is Marilyn Campbell Davis, who is now living full-time in Owen Sound and working from the Family Y. In addition to Marilyn, other resources from Ketchum Canada Limited include the Campaign Supervisor Karen Willson, Senior Vice President, as well as communication and research specialists.

The Fundraising Committee has been very active, planning and organizing the campaign. Volunteers are currently approaching community leaders and businesses to provide the pacesetting donations for the campaign. Fundraising events are starting and include a golf tournament at Cobble Beach and an Elvis concert. Our community campaign kicks off in September - watch for updates this fall on how you can personally donate to support this project!
